Failover/Failback notification

Sean McMurray
I don't see any directives to configure snmp or email notification of
failure/recovery events.
What's are some common ways to alert these events?

Re: Failover/Failback notification

Gregory Sloop

I use nagios. (Which is both better and worse. Occasionally the server might go down, in that it quits offering leases while still thinking it is up. But nagios will take a bit, depending on your poll interval, to realize it is down, too)

I'm not aware of any built-in methods.

Syslog is your friend. The status messages will be in their "I move
from NORMAL to COMMUNICATIONS-INTERRUPTED". Have your syslog/SIEM
server notify you.
