We have taken steps to address the auto-reply

Hopefully this will take care of the current problem.

We apologize for the annoyance.

Jason Hellenthal
Thanks!!! I was redirecting all his auto replies back to his inbox from my own sooooo he should be pretty full when he returns on the 21st and realize the error. 😎

Re: Out of office replies

Guys, Golden Rule here.
Beyond that, let's not break the social contract either.

Yes, their client/service should recognize the "Mailing List" header,
assuming our mailing list does set it.  Of course the mailing list
software can also catch "Auto-Responder" or "Auto-Submitter" headers,
assuming the client/service does set it.

Let's not add to the issues and/or jump to conclusions here.
Attempting to fill up someone's mailbox is never a legitimate counter.

off his account ?

Come on guys, who amongst us has never managed to "get something wrong" with email :-(

Anyway, could be worse - you could end up on the national TV news in one of those "And lastly, for a bit of a laugh" articles :

Not to mean to add yet a second (2), meta-response to this thread ...

But yes, most of us North Americans forget that dual-language signs
are the norm, not the exception.  Imagine if Officer Aykroyd had to
use his smartphone to translate these important messages, and he got
them wrong because of an out-of-office message.  Those poor Québécois
wouldn't have been able to read the signs!

Sorry, couldn't resist. [1]  ;)
