Getting the same ip on 2 tasks

Marc Roos

I am just testing a bit with running isc dhcp in a container servicing
ip addresses to apps. I just got on 2 apps the same ip address assigned.

Is there anything I can do on the server side? I saw that it was pinging
ip addresses if they are existing, maybe there is a timeout I can
increase?

RE: Getting the same ip on 2 tasks

Or can this be, because the dhcp request comes from the same interface
(quite quickly) that makes the dhcpd server think it is the same host?
Is there then maybe a way to force all received requests to be treated
as from a 'new host'?

Ok fixed by adding unique dhcp client id
