Car rental in Tokyo for a business trip

Mussial
Got a work trip to Tokyo coming up in about two weeks. Got meetings and stuff to sort out across different parts of the city, so I'll basically be moving around all week. Taking the subway every time sounds exhausting, especially with documents and luggage. Thinking about just renting a car for the whole stay so I can get around on my own schedule. Anyone know which rental companies there are worth checking out and where the terms are actually reasonable?

Tokyo traffic is no joke, especially during rush hours, so factor that in. That said, having your own car does make sense when you're bouncing between different districts every day. Budget and Nippon Rent-A-Car are pretty well known there, decent coverage across the city. Just make sure whatever company you go with has English-language support, because navigating their websites or calling them in Japanese can get complicated fast.

There's also peer-to-peer car rental, where private owners list their vehicles directly. Rates tend to be lower than traditional agencies and the selection is more varied since you're picking from what locals actually drive. You can browse car rental options in Tokyo here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/japan/tokyo . Owners set their own terms so pickup and drop-off arrangements tend to be more flexible than what you'd get at a standard rental desk.
